Analysis

The Bureau initiated its Standards and Labelling programme in 2006 to give consumers an informed choice about the energy saving, and therefore the cost saving, potential of a marketed product. The scheme covers a long list of equipment and appliances that includes room air conditioners, tubular fluorescent tube lights, frost free and direct cool refrigerators, distribution transformers, induction motors, electric storage type geysers, ceiling fans, colour televisions, agricultural pump sets, LPG stoves, washing machines and laptops. All three items in the question therefore appear on that list.

How to crack it

Reason from the purpose of the labelling scheme rather than from the appliance list. A star rating exists wherever two products doing the same job can differ substantially in electricity consumption, and fans, geysers and lighting are among the largest household loads in India. Any high consumption, mass market appliance is therefore a strong candidate, which makes the inclusive option the natural answer here.
